The museum

The Île-de-France museum of prehistory, designed by the architect Roland Simounet, is in Nemours, in the heart of a picturesque forest. It traces the major stages of Prehistory and Protohistory in the Ile-de-France region, the first traces of the presence of Man (around 600,000 years ago) to the end of the of the Gallic period.
